Dusting off the old GMing skills

Not that I had much to begin with :)
But I may be losing my touch - some of the players seem to have actually worked out what is going on. Naturally these are the players who have the least power to do something about it, and can't trust those that do have the power enough to actually tell them - so I guess it evens out :)

It suprised me that one of the players immediately guessed a correct answer based on the wrong clues, as well. But luckily they then changed their minds because they were so used to D&D and not the original mythologies....

So now we have the party on a kind of 'house arrest'. The centaur tribe forcing them to help search the forest for this monstrous beast that killed (and partially devoured) one of them...

The old rich baron (no, he just sounds like a mage in the completely sound-transparent tent because his meditations are from an ancient language similar to the chants of incantation - please don't tell the church), and the mercenary (honestly, that's all he is) are with four of the centaurs. The page boys are back at the camp looking after the horses, the other guards have been split up with the other centaurs. The other two PCs - the bard (who obviously, also is just a bard), and the midget sized relative of the bard dressed in clothing similar to all the feline guard uniforms on the corpses found previously that had also been munched on by the Monstrous Beast (tm)...

Okay, you have me there, the midget is the Monster...

Well, these two are with a special group of centaurs, because one of these centaurs found a pouch in the forest that someone had dropped (well, something had dropped, anyway)...

You too can now build your own McGuffin. It fits handily in pouches and is guaranteed to be hunted after by PCs....

When assembled with it's REALLY difficult to find replacement parts to get it working again, it looks like this-

Speccy glowing nebulous lights inside, are not included (Hey! Go make your own plot!)

Warning - Use of the McGuffin invalidates the PC from any insurance claims regarding turns of bad luck or bouts of amnesia. Some nausea may result. Please consult your nearest GM
